Op zaterdag 8 augustus trekken Universiteit Antwerpen, AP Hogeschool, Antwerp Maritime Academy en KdG Hogeschool opnieuw samen naar de Antwerp Pride Parade. Met een gezamenlijke delegatie willen we zichtbaar tonen waar we voor staan: een open, inclusieve samenleving waarin iedereen zichzelf kan zijn.

Samen met onze partnerinstellingen gaan we al langer in gesprek over waarom we aandacht moeten blijven besteden aan deze thema’s. Verworven rechten staan vandaag opnieuw onder druk, zowel internationaal als dichter bij huis.
In mei organiseerden we, naar aanleiding van IDAHOT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia), samen met onze partnerinstellingen verschillende initiatieven onder de vlag van United*. Met deze acties willen we een duidelijk signaal geven: bij ons kan iedereen zichzelf zijn.
Zo streek onze reizende United*-tafel neer in het Antwerpse stadhuis voor een gesprek met schepen van Gelijke Kansen Lien Van de Kelder, onderzoekers, studenten en vertegenwoordigers van onze instellingen. De tafel reist ondertussen verder langs onze partnerinstellingen om het gesprek levend te houden.
We hopen je op 8 augustus te verwelkomen! Samen maken we zichtbaar dat inclusie niet stopt na één campagne of één evenement, maar een engagement is dat we elke dag opnieuw waarmaken.

On Saturday, 8 August, the University of Antwerp, AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Antwerp Maritime Academy and KdG University of Applied Sciences and Arts will once again join forces for the Antwerp Pride Parade. Together, we want to show what we stand for: an open and inclusive society where everyone is free to be themselves.

Together with our partner institutions, we have been engaging in conversations about why these themes deserve ongoing attention. LGBTQIA+ rights that were once hard-won can never be taken for granted and are increasingly being challenged, both internationally and closer to home.
In May, to mark IDAHOT (the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia), we joined forces with our partner institutions for a series of initiatives under the United* banner. Through these actions, we want to send a clear message: everyone should feel welcome and able to be themselves within our community.
As part of the campaign, our travelling United* table stopped at Antwerp City Hall for a conversation with Lien Van de Kelder, researchers, students and representatives from our institutions. The table is now continuing its journey across our partner institutions, keeping the conversation alive and encouraging further dialogue.
We hope to welcome you on August 8! Together, we can show that inclusion is not limited to a single campaign or event, but a commitment we put into practice every day.
